Kamesha Barnes

Kamesha Barnes is the Head Coach/Director of Diva University’s Sassy Divaz (Kansas City) as well as the Business Marketing Director and Co-founder of Diva University and Auxiliary Quest. With over 27 years of Dance experience, Kamesha’s love for dance started  at the age of 8 years old. She became a member of the internationally known Kansas City Marching Cobras under the direction of Willie A. Smith. As a competitive dancer of the Marching Cobra traveling competition team, she has been apart of winning countless competitions and parades. She also  served as Head Captain during her tenure with the Cobras. She was introduced to the HBCU culture through the Marching Cobras where she attended University of Arkansas Pine Bluff's homecoming and pageant; where she  was crowned Jr. Miss Cobra.

 

Kamesha began teaching dance as a teenager for  the Marching Cobras dancers ranging from the ages of 5-18. Not only does Kamesha have Dance, Drill team and parade experience she also served as a Varsity Cheerleader in high school where she was awarded “All-American" status through the NCA and NDA. She has also choreographed award winning routines as a varsity cheerleader.

After High-school, Kamesha continued her dance experience through Greater Glory Dance Ministry at Canaan Worship center; where she served as Ministry leader. She furthered her dance education  and training in ballet, contemporary and jazz  at the Kansas City Ballet. She successfully opened Auxiliary Studio KC in 2018, where she had the opportunity to teach all dance styles and learn the business side of dance; as a dance studio owner.

Kamesha has been the Head Coach for the Sassy Divaz of Missouri since 2015. She is obtaining her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Digital Marketing from Full Sail University; where she is a member of the National Honor Society of Collegiate Scholars.  Kamesha is a wife, mom, a dance teacher and a lover of all things dance. She is excited to pour her dance experience, life experiences, and her talents into her students at Diva University. She is also excited to assist dancers in growing their talent, developing their technique, building their confidence, and building their character. She prides herself in creating marketing content that will display the HBCU culture in the Midwest and inspire young girls to attend HBCU’s through dance.
